I remember when I was young and sitting on a blanket on the beach with my sister. We both looked at our mother, who was sitting on a towel nearby. We looked at the varicose veins on her legs and whispered, “How did she get them?” Since we hoped and prayed in silence, we would never keep her standing. I was lucky not to have any! However, my sister is another story.

Varicose veins can be hereditary or related to lifestyle eg. B. Get up all day at work or stay still for a long time. They usually start with a circulatory complication in the calf. The calf muscles allow blood to flow upward through the veins. If the valves are defective, there may be a higher pressure flow resulting in loss of venous integrity. The veins then appear knotted under the skin because they are inflamed, enlarged and swollen.

Women are affected more often than men, possibly because pregnancies increase venous pressure in the legs and cause varicose veins. Overweight people are at higher risk and, as we age, the venous walls become weaker and we are prone to varicose veins.

β€œAlright,” my sister said, β€œsince our mother has varicose veins and I had three pregnancies which were all overweight, and to boot I’m over 50 (!). What can a woman do? ? “

I told him to keep his horses (uh, it might not be good for varicose veins) so that my article was not ready yet.

So what do we do to keep our varicose veins from controlling?

The schemes are:

1. Grape seeds

2. Horse chestnut seeds

3. Vitamin C.

4. Zinc

5. Gotu Kola

6.Vitamin E.

7. Fibrous diet

8. Increase consumption of berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries) and cherries

9. Increase your consumption of ginger, onions and garlic

10.Exercise

Wearing knee-high compression stockings, available at medical stores or pharmacies, can protect your veins, especially if you have to stand for a long time.

Another thing is, don’t cross your legs!

The most important thing we can do to treat or reduce varicose veins is exercise. The muscles we need to focus on are the calf muscles because they control the circulatory system in the leg veins. Stretching and lengthening exercises strengthen, support and improve the calf muscle pump. The Pilates reformer is the best exercise for increasing blood flow to the legs and calves while stretching. Bingo! You would think that Joseph Pilates designed the reformer with the varicose veins in mind. He didn’t have that in mind. But these are the problems associated with varicose veins. Except for the weak genetic heritage (sorry mom.)
