Kidney Stones
Kidney stones are hard mineral deposits that form in the kidneys, often due to dehydration, high salt intake, or metabolic disorders. Symptoms include severe flank pain, blood in urine, nausea, and frequent urination. Treatment depends on the size and type of the stone.
ESWL Surgery (Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy)
ESWL is a non-invasive procedure that uses shock waves to break kidney stones into smaller pieces, allowing them to pass naturally through urine. It is ideal for small to medium-sized stones but may require multiple sessions for complete stone clearance.
RIRS Surgery (Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery)
RIRS is a minimally invasive laser procedure where a flexible ureteroscope is inserted through the urethra to break kidney stones using a laser. It is used for moderate to large stones, especially in the kidney or upper ureter.
PCNL Surgery (Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy)
PCNL is a keyhole surgery for large or complex kidney stones. A small incision is made in the back, and a nephroscope is inserted to remove the stones directly. It is highly effective for stones larger than 2 cm.
URSL Surgery (Ureteroscopic Lithotripsy)
URSL is used for stones in the ureter. A rigid ureteroscope is inserted through the urethra and bladder to access the stone, which is then broken using a laser or removed with forceps. It is effective for medium-sized stones in the lower ureter.
Gallbladder stones
Gallbladder stones are hard deposits that form in the gallbladder from bile components. They can be made of cholesterol, bilirubin, or calcium salts

- Kidney cysts are round pockets of fluid that form on or in the kidneys. Kidney cysts can be associated with serious conditions that can affect how kidney function works. Most commonly, however, kidney cysts are of the type called simple kidney cysts – non-cancerous cysts that rarely cause complications.
It is not known what causes simple kidney cysts. Usually a single cyst appears on the surface of a kidney, but multiple cysts can affect one or both kidneys. Kidney cysts Treatment in Nizamabad
symptoms
Simple kidney cysts usually don’t cause any signs or symptoms. When a simple kidney cyst becomes large enough, the following symptoms may occur:
- Dull pain in the back or side
- fever
- Pain in the upper abdomen
The reasons
It is not known what causes simple kidney cysts. One theory is that kidney cysts develop when the top layer of the kidney weakens and forms a pocket (diverticulum). The pouch then fills with fluid, breaks off, and turns into a cyst.
Risk factors
The risk of simple kidney cysts increases with age, although they can appear at any age. Simple kidney cysts are more common in men.
Complications
Kidney cysts can sometimes cause complications, including:
- An infected cyst. A kidney cyst can become infected and cause fever and pain.
- A ruptured cyst. A bursting kidney cyst causes severe back or side pain.
- Urinary obstruction. A kidney cyst that prevents the normal flow of urine can cause the kidney to swell (hydronephrosis). Kidney cysts Treatment in Nizamabad
