Gynecomastia is a common problem with men. It can lead to both physical discomfort and mental discomfort. Sometimes it’s referred to as “male breasts”. This leads to many men posing the question:
Should you wear a bra if you have gynecomastia?
The answer to this in general, is no. The condition can be embarrassing enough as is, and resorting to wearing a bra can only add to the problem. Bra’s have straps to them and can be very revealing if not totally covered. A better option would be wearing a tight tank top (or two). Usually getting a size smaller than normal will provide similar benefits to that of a bra, and obviously wouldn’t be as embarrassing.
What if the condition is worse than normal, then should you wear a bra if you have gynecomastia?
Again, I would say no, even if your condition is worse than normal. Another option can actually be duct tape. I’ve seen bodybuilders with very bad gynecomastia who have resorted to placing duct tape across their chests. This can prevent the problem from being noticeable when wearing a shirt.
What can I do to reduce or eliminate gynecomstia?
The easiest and cheapest thing to do in order to eliminate gynecomstia is performing exercises which were specifically designed to get rid of the male breast condition. These can either reduce the condition so it is bearable, or eliminate it altogether. There are guides available online which will show you the exercises to perform. It’s generally the best solution to try first before opting for more expensive avenues such as surgery.
Gynecomastia Surgery – Is it the Best Option?
Gynecomastia is an embarrassing condition that affects one in three men to a certain degree. It affects males of all different ages, but the condition often occurs in one’s teenage years whilst going through puberty. In some cases if affects both breasts, but can sometimes just occur in one. There are many different causes for gynecomastia which include; being overweight, excessive glandular tissue, puberty and sometimes side effects from certain drugs.
Gynecomastia is commonly known as man boobs. And it’s probably one of the most embarrassing conditions a guy can ever have. If you have gynecomastia then you’ll know. It can affect ones social life, dent self esteem and even ruin relationships. A sufferer of gynecomastia will find it very difficult to take their top off at the swimming pool, beach and even in front of family and friends.
Is Surgery The Best Option?
In my opinion surgery should be a last resort. You should try other methods first, if they fail – then consider surgery. You should also consult a medical expert before considering surgery and they can advise you of the personal risks involved.
However there are forms of breast reduction surgery that have high success rates. I’ve seen hundreds of gynecomastia sufferers report that they’ve had great success by under going breast reduction surgery.
