In this time of uncertainty, do you fear what might come next, financial difficulties or worse, or do you regret the decisions you made in the past that brought you to where you are now?

If you are bored or regret, you will miss the opportunity.

This moment – now – is a gift. We have had the privilege and opportunity to explore and experiment, learn and grow, create and contribute. We now have the gift of making a monumental decision.

What do you do with your gift?

Now there is always an opportunity; an opportunity to become a better version of ourselves, or an opportunity to resist. “Resist what?” you might ask. Resist the life that makes us all we should be.

When I speak for myself I can only imagine that my angels are a frustrated bunch. They stood by my side, guiding and guarding me, and holding me in difficult times, and yet, after more than fifty years, I ignore their calm and persistent reputation – advice that offers me peace, love and joy. Instead, I resist. I can not do that; that would make me sound stupid. I can not do that; it would take too much effort. I can not do that; it’s under me. I can not do that; and a million and another excuse. There is always tomorrow …

Until there isn’t.

I usually think of life. Yes, I have this moment, but I’m really looking forward to it and I am waiting for this fantastic moment in the not too distant future, hopefully, in which all the stars line up, all the ducks are in a row and I finally get to my glory. I think of this fantasy of perfection. It seems to be a description of my last death rather than a probable reality. What life is perfect for; not what i expect. The challenge of life does not change life. The challenge that I accepted and in which I am immersed changes me. I have to learn to live in every moment, to love and to seize the opportunity.

So what should I do now?

Covid-19 is such a powerful and pervasive message – to me and to the world – that it seems impossible to ignore it.

My angels are watching and wondering again, hoping and praying, “Is he listening?” Will he see the opportunity? And will he make the right choice? “

I have an opportunity in front of me; and you too. At any moment, there is the possibility of choosing: to determine my state – my emotional state – to determine my course and to act.

Covid-19 changes life in the world and for what purpose?

It is a call to us to rethink our priorities and determine what really matters. This is an opportunity for me and you and maybe ultimately for all of us to change direction. Covid-19 calls for major course correction; a big reset. Shall we answer the call?

It is really difficult to make a prediction, especially with regard to the future, but I will speculate: the future that we live as individuals, families, communities and nations will depend on the decisions we make here and now – in this one Moment.

Change is difficult and sometimes painful. But change can also be beautiful, joyful and formidable. Are we going to resist and avoid the health, financial and economic challenges to come, or are we going to take this opportunity to start a new and better experience?

People die from Covid-19. The world economy is threatened with implosion. People are huddled in their homes. Many are anxious and fearful. But Covid-19 is not a destroyer; It is a call to renewal. The Covid 19 crisis is a call for us to replace the β€œevery man for himself” philosophy that dominates society with an interconnected, interdependent and united culture. Covid-19 calls us to unite.
