symptom

Common warts usually appear on your fingers or hands and can include:

  • Small, fleshy, grainy bumps
  • Flesh color, white, pink or beige
  • Rough to the touch
  • Dotted with black dots, which are small clotted blood vessels

The reasons

Common warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). The virus is widespread and has more than 150 types, but few cause warts on the hands. Some strains of HPV are acquired through sexual contact. However, most forms are spread through occasional skin contact or through common objects such as towels or washcloths. The virus usually spreads through cuts in the skin such as fingernails or scratches. Biting your nails can also cause warts to spread on your fingertips and around your fingernails.

Everyone’s immune system reacts differently to the HPV virus, so not everyone who comes into contact with HPV will develop warts.

Risk factors

People at higher risk of developing warts include:

Children and young adults because their bodies may not have developed immunity to the virus
People with weakened immune systems, such as people with HIV / AIDS or people who have had an organ transplant

prevention

How To Reduce Your Risk Of Warts:

  • Avoid direct contact with warts. This includes your own warts.
  • Don’t pick the warts. Picking can spread the virus.
  • Don’t use the same emery board, pumice stone, or nail clippers on your warts that you use on your healthy skin and nails. Use a disposable emery board.
  • Don’t bite your nails. Warts are more common on broken skin. Nibbling the skin around your fingernails opens the door to the virus.
  • Give yourself care. Avoid brushing, cutting, or shaving areas with warts. If you need to shave, use an electric razor. Common warts Treatment in Khammam
