Benign adrenal tumors are non-cancerous masses that form in the adrenal glands. As part of your endocrine system, the adrenal glands produce hormones that direct almost every organ and tissue in your body.
- You have two adrenal glands, one above each kidney. Each gland contains two types of tissue: the cortex and the spinal cord. Benign adrenal tumors that develop in the cortex are also known as adrenal adenomas. Those that develop in the marrow are also called pheochromocytomas (Fee-o-kroe-moe-sy-TOE-muhs).
- Most benign adrenal tumors do not cause symptoms and do not require treatment. But sometimes these tumors secrete high levels of certain hormones, which can lead to complications.
The most common hormones that can be secreted are aldosterone and cortisol from the cortex and the hormones adrenaline from the spinal cord. In these cases, treatment for benign adrenal tumors may include surgery or medication.Benign adrenal tumors Treatment Hyderabad
